In 2005, after attending @media - the biggest Web conference in the UK - I realised there was quite a large group of individuals with a similar attitude towards the Internet from around the West Midlands. So, I took it upon myself to arrange a meetup with my fellow “geeks” in a pub in Walsall and see what the response was like.

What I didn’t realise was that said meetup would become a regular event, attracting Web developers from not just around the Midlands but all around the county, from as far as Manchester, Halifax and Wales!

The Multipack was born.

Now into its third year and second website revision, The Multipack have now become firmly established as the community of Web developers from around the West Midlands.

Meeting on the second Saturday of the month in Birmingham, with the occasional jaunt to another town around the Midlands, the Multipack is host to some of the most talented Web developers of the region, who are more than willing to share their knowledge with newcomers as well.

The great thing about The Multipack is how they have all come together as one community, establishing new business and personal relationships that never existed before. Rather than bidding against each other for work, group members actually refer or suggest each other for potential work.
