simonjobling.com has gone Pink For October. Find out what it is all about and how to contribute.

London Baby!

Things have definitely been slow around here of late. I apologise to all those who have been waiting patiently for the next podcast or something interesting to read but I’ve had immense amounts of stuff going on over recent weeks and its not about to get any easier either…

If you’re a bit of a nerd, you’ve probably heard of something called @media. It’s one of those big entries in every Web nerd’s diary that you try to get to for multiple reasons.

Firstly, anybody who’s anybody will be travelling to London today either to give a presentation on a topic of interest or to listen to their peers opinions on the latest fads.

Secondly, it is a great opportunity to discuss all things Web with those who actually know what you’re talking about, maybe learning a few new things. One thing is for sure - you are bound to leave @media with a pocket full of business cards for you to get back in contact with once you’ve gathered yourself on the following Monday morning and have discovered a problem you know that guy in a pink teeshirt will be able to help you with.

Thankfully, work stumped up the expenses for me to attend @media last year and when this one was announced, I was the first to ask the boss for a repeat ticket. After much pestering, it was all organised nice and early and I will now be jumping on a Virgin train down to London this evening for the pre-conference party with some members from the Multipack.

Since last year’s event, I have been keeping tabs on all those guys who will giving presentations via my Bloglines control panel. Hopefully, I will already have a good idea of what they are all talking and be able to give some valuable input during any Q&A’s. If not, I can just sit back and listen to Trev piping up with some great argument about why we shouldn’t bother supporting IE4.

Anyway, I will be giving my full report on the event when I settle down next week so I suggest you subscribe to my RSS feed and await my oh-so-critical-but-slightly-bleery-eyed review.

By the way, for those who are waiting for the next installment of the One Phat DJ podcast, do not worry - it will be released next week. It’s pretty much finished now so you won’t have to wait too much longer before your next dose of funky house!
